A Trusted Thinking Partner for Nonprofit Organizations

For more than 45 years, I have helped nonprofit organizations strengthen leadership, navigate change, and develop strategies that advance their missions and increase their impact. Drawing on experience as a nonprofit executive, board chair, volunteer leader, facilitator, trainer, and consultant, I serve as a trusted advisor and thinking partner to nonprofit leaders seeking clarity, alignment, and meaningful results.

My role is not to tell organizations what to do. Rather, I help boards and leadership teams ask the right questions, engage key stakeholders, and make informed decisions that position their organizations for long-term success. Whether addressing strategic priorities, governance challenges, leadership transitions, or organizational change, I help leaders move forward with confidence and purpose.

Over the past two decades, I have consulted with hundreds of nonprofit organizations with annual revenues ranging from $1 million to more than $300 million. My work focuses on strategic planning, board development and governance, executive search and transition, organizational effectiveness, and facilitation.

Before joining DBD Group as a Senior Consultant, I spent 43 years serving YMCA associations and community-based organizations in leadership and executive roles. While working with the YMCA’s national resource office, I co-developed and implemented a national strategy adopted by more than 850 YMCA associations and created resources that supported strategic planning, governance, leadership development, and executive transitions across the movement.

Throughout my career, I have facilitated strategic planning initiatives, governance retreats, leadership development programs, conferences, and workshops for organizations of all sizes across the United States and internationally. As a national trainer for more than 20 years, I have equipped thousands of nonprofit leaders with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to strengthen their organizations and communities.

My approach is grounded in partnership. I bring expertise in strategy development, facilitation, and best practices, while board members, staff, and stakeholders bring deep knowledge of their mission, community, industry, and aspirations. The most effective solutions emerge when those perspectives come together. My role is to provide structure, insight, and guidance that help organizations draw on their collective wisdom and translate it into practical strategies that create lasting impact.

I am a BoardSource Certified Advanced Board Consultant, a Master Trainer in Managing Inclusion through Korn Ferry (formerly Novations Group), and I co-led the national integration of Real-Time Strategic Planning (La Piana) methodologies throughout the YMCA movement and service-delivery system.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Springfield College.

My husband, Joe, and I live in Chicago with our two yellow English Labradors, Luca and Lily.
